Volleyball Academy
Spike City Volleyball Academy
Boys & Girls Grade 4-9
Our Volleyball Academy helps the beginner and experienced player improve their skills with instruction. Players will work to strengthen footwork, passing, setting, and spiking. Each class is limited to 25 participants.

Piano Lessons
Piano Lessons
Ages 5-Adult
Niles Park District offers private piano lessons. Children and adults with all levels of experience are welcome and no prior instruction in piano or music is required. Lessons will focus on the fundamentals of technique, music theory, and good practice habits. Practice time may also be arranged through the park district for a minimal fee. In addition, students may need to purchase their own intruction books and music. Refunds will not be granted for missed lessons.
Location: Howard Leisure Center
Time: Lessons are 30 minutes long
Lessons take place Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday

Meet our Piano Instructors!
VICKY OSTWALD: Vicky Ostwald has a degree in piano and also studied piano pedagogy at the graduate level. She has many years of playing and teaching experience, including formerly teaching at the college level. Vicky enjoys working with all levels and all kinds of students, especially children but also adults, including those with special needs. If you have a special interest such as learning to play by ear, this can be incorporated into the lesson time. She looks forward to meeting you and your child!
TOM SLATER: Tom Slater has been playing music and studying the piano for over 30 years. He studied at Cleveland State University and has a background in classical, jazz and pop music. He is currently a muilti-instrumentalist in several local bands and he has been featured on the WGN Morning News, WXRT and NPR. Tom's main goals are to help his students develop and maintain good practice habits, learn music theory, and get the most enjoyment you can from playing music.
JEANNE HANLINE: Jeanne Hanline has studied music and given private lessons for over 35 years ficusing on teaching children and adults to read music and enjoy the accomplishment of sitting down to play this amazing instrument. Teaching traditional methods of classical and popular music are the results she hopes to acheive for her students. She has played various venues for private affairs and church functions. Patience, practice and enjoyment are the main goals.
Guitar Lessons
Guitar Lessons
Ages 5 & Up
Private 1 on 1 lessons. This is a comprehensive guitar course that embarks on a musical journey that covers a spectrum of styles and genres, ensuring a well-rounded and adaptable skill set. Our course is designed to provide a solid foundation in music theory, chord progressions, scales, and technique. From the fundamentals, we delve into various genres such as rock, blues, jazz, country, folk, and any other style of interest. This course ensures a versatile understanding of the guitar that will allow you to transcend genre boundaries. All you need is an acoustic guitar or electric guitar. Instructional materials will be provided.

Carter Stark is a guitarist, teacher, and concert curator. Carter performs classical guitar and rock/pop guitar. His teaching approach keeps the listener and student in mind at every step and opens the door to deep musical exploration and experience. Lessons will cover a spectrum of styles and genres.

Creative Drawing Adventures with Young Rembrandts
Ages 5-12
Young Rembrandts fall drawing classes combine the best of artistic skill-building and cartooning fun. Kids will create imaginative works like a detailed gumball machine, a mouthwatering sandwich, and a dazzling Egyptian headdress, plus laugh-out-loud cartoon characters, lively party animals, and animated everyday objects. Our step-by-step lessons help develop fine motor skills, color theory understanding, and visual storytelling, all while boosting confidence and self-expression. Whether your child is serious about art or just loves to doodle, they'll have a blast drawing with us. Min 8/Max 22.

Draw, Laugh, Create- The Young Rembrandts Way!

From silly food faces and goofy nutcrackers to globetrotting koalas and game-inspired still lifes, our lessons offer something new and exciting each week. Kids will build confidence as they explore facial expressions, storytelling, and artistic techniques- all while laughing and learning. Whether your child is new to drawing or already doodling up a storm, they'll thrive in our fun, skill-building environment. Min 8/Max 22.

Babysitting 101
This course will prepare participants for babysitting jobs or other positions that require them to supervise children in the absence of parents or guardians. Topics covered include child development stages, basic childcare and first aid, safety, and leadership. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course. Max of 10. No make up classes or refunds granted once program starts.

Basketball- Small Shots
Small Shots Basketball

We are proud to offer this 6-week program where participants will learn dribbling, shooting, defense, and offense skills. Fee includes a t-shirt and basketball. Gym shoes must be worn to each class. Classes are limited to 30 kids. No class December 27. Register early as classes will fill.

Soccer Academy
Boys & Girls Grade 1-7
Each player will learn the fundamentals. The players will learn fast footwork, play small-sided games, will be introduced to tactical elements so they can understand positions and roles. Players will develop fast footwork, technical work on controlling and receiving while being challenged in 1v1 and small sided games. An introduction to game specific topics and positions. Each class is limited to 25 participants.

Martial Arts
Shotokan Karate Classes
Register at Niles Park District for karate classes. Illinois Shotokan Karate Club is Chicagoland's premier karate school taught under the instruction of John DiPasquale, a four-time National Champion, and President of the American Shotokan Karate Association.
Beginner students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met. Registration for continuers through advanced students will be accepted after the start date, but the full class fee is required.
Uniform and belt testing are options available through ISKC instructior. Please note that the Youth and Adult classes train together.

In our Pre-Karate safety classes, young children develop flexibility, strength, and coordination in fun, yet disciplined activities. YOUTH & ADULT KARATE

ISKC's Karate classes offer a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Students increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. They also benefit from the mental stimulation of learning the choreographed moves of the kata and the discipline of conforming to the class rules. No class September 22 & October 1. Class limit of 10.
