Players will sign up for the league based on their grades for the 2024-2025 season.  For the 1st/2nd Grade league, teams will be slotted into two divisions based on grades.  For the 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th Grade divisions, teams will be slotted into the Majors or Minors divisions as determined by the Athletic Department.  Each player will receive a jersey and hat which must be worn to all games.  Sign up as a team or individual.  Your schedule will consist of at least 8 games.  Registration deadline is July 12.

Individual Fee:  Resident $108, Non-Resident $135
Team Fee:  Resident $1290, Non-Resident $1620

Vince Thomas Basketball Training Summer Camp

Grade 3-6
Players will be instructed by Vince Thomas, a USA Basketball Licensed Coach, Former high school coach, former professional basketball player, Collegiate All American and Hall of Famer.  Max of 25 per age group.  T-shirt will be provided.

Total Player Skill Development

With focus on whole player development, skills to be taught will include ball handling, shooting, attacking the basket, footwork/foot speed, screening and passing.  Players will learn and become familiar with necessary offensive and defensive skills and concepts to advance their overall game.  1.5 hours of Total Player Skill Development.  1 hour transferable Total Player Skill Development within live scrimmages/gameplay.

Better Shooting & Defensive Skill Development

Better Shooting and Defensive Skill Development is a clinic where players will focus on proper shooting mindset, mechanics, and techniques, while learning and developing defensive principals, concepts, and positioning.  Having the skillset to compete on both ends of the basketball court is both essential and imperative.  1.5 hours of Better Shooting & Defensive Skill Development.  1 hour transferable Better Shooting & Defensive Skill Development within live scrimmages/gameplay.

3x3 Basketball Camp

The 3x3 Basketball Camp will provide an opportunity for players to improve their shooting and scoring by focusing on individual skill development and implementing those skills in a 3 on 3 setting.  The camp emphasizes the critical elements to spacing, movement and decision making, while working on 3 on 3 defensive concepts.  These small-sided games are a great way to learn and help develop basketball IQ early as well as how to move with and without the ball.  1 hour of 3 on 3 Offensive/Defensive Skill Develoment.  1.5 hours of transferable 3 on 3 Offensive/Defensive Skill Development within live 3 on 3 scrimmages/gameplay.

5 on 5 Basketball Camp

This 5 on 5 Basketball Camp is designed to develop and improve the player's fundamental understanding of 5 on 5 basketball.  The format for this camp will be heavily focused on 5 on 5 play with players playing 15 minute controlled scrimmages, sitting for 15 minutes, and then playing again for 15 minutes.  Drills may be inserted between games as needed to teach in-game skills.  Will additionally focus on understanding and executing simple offensive strategies, including passing and cutting, ball movement, working together, unselfish play, setting good screens.  Fundamental 5 on 5 team defense, some principals, defensive skills and strategies.  Individual and team rebounding and basketball IQ.

Pickleball Lessons
Ages 18 & Upregisterbutton npd 110

Beginner:  Learn the strokes, how to score and court positioning so you can play with your friends and family or recreational play.  Instruction by a PPA Certified Coach.  Bring your paddle; paddle and balls will be provided if needed.

Beginner/Advanced:  This is the perfect course for the newer player that wants to get their stroke technique down.  You already know how to play the game, know all the strokes, can score, and understand the basic court positioning.  Being able to effectively dink, drop, drive, serve and return is key!  We work strokes and court positioning so that you become a more confident player.  Instruction by a PPA Certified Coach.  Bring your paddle; paddle and balls will be provided if needed.

OPEN PICKLEBALL INFORMATION

Ages 7-12

This class will combine a variety of mediums in a single artwork.  We will create different collages, sculptres, assemble paintings.  We will use many different materials such as paint, clay, and found items.  Each student will take home a unique project each week.  No class July 2 & 4.

Drawing & Painting
Ages 7-12

Individual instruction for beginners and advanced students in the use of different materials that may include charcoal, watercolor, pastels, collage, and acrylics.  Classes will learn line, shape, form, composition, and creativity.  No class July 2.

Clay Class
Ages 7-12

Fun for all skill levels, children will create clay projects, exploring materials and methods in ways that inspire new ideas and help develop an individual and unique style.  Each student will decorate and paint the projects and be able to bring them home next class.  No class July 4.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

  • Camp will be offered in weekly sessions.  Participants must register for the full week(s).
  • Once camps are full, your name will be put on a wait list.

HOW TO REGISTER:

  • Register by filling out the Camp Registration Form.
  • Email the Camp registration form to Robin- robin@niles-parks.org.  Or in person at the Howard Leisure Center, 6676 W. Howard Street (Mon-Fri 8:30 am-5:00 pm).  Excludes skating & hockey camps, register at IceLand, 8435 Ballard.
  • CAMP REGISTRATION IS NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE!
  • Credit card payment must be included on the form in order to register.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

  • Campers must be registered by 5:00 pm the Thursday prior to the session start date.  A $25 late fee will be charged if registered the Friday before the session start date.

REFUND POLICY:

  • To withdraw from a session of camp and receive a refund, a request must be submitted by 5:00 pm the Thursday prior to the start of the session. 
  • A $25 per camper, per session service charge is applied to all refund requests.
  • Refunds will not be given for missed camp days.
