Niles Park District Bright Beginnings Preschool is guided by the philosophy of “learning through play”. Guided or self-initiated, we believe play is an essential component in developing the whole child.

 

Under the guidance of our qualified teachers, children will learn to follow directions, share with others, and adapt to a group setting. The school-year curriculum will introduce children to a broad variety of experiences in a safe and stimulating environment. Activities in art, music, movement, cooking, games, storytelling and dramatic play will help nurture the development of self-control, physical coordination and social & cognitive skills.

 

By implementing our philosophy, we hope to provide each child with an enjoyable, stimulating and productive preschool experience, thereby easing the transition into kindergarten.

Preschool Registration begins March 1 for Residents & March 8 for Non-Residents.  Registration is accepted until all classes are filled.  Preschool begins in September and runs through May.

New 3's Preschool

This class is designed for children who turned three after September 1, 2010, missing the deadline for our regular three year old preschool.  Children will experience their first, or nearly first, classroom experience.  They will be introduced to circle time, doing independent craft projects, songs and fingerplays, storytime, snack time and emphasis on socialization and seperation from parent.  Parents will be asked to select several days to aid the teacher in the classroom and provide a snack for the children.  Being a parent helper is an integral part of all preschool classes.  Parent orientation meeting will be Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.  No school March 28-April 1 (Spring Break).
